U-16G Annandale Express win fourth consecutive league championship
The U-16G Annandale Express clinched the Fall 2008 WAGS Division 3 championship. The victory marked the fourth straight league title, and fifth league title overall for the Express. The team had previously won league championships in U-13G ODSL Division 2 (Spring 2006), U-14G ODSL Division 1 (Spring 2007), U-15G WAGS Division 5 (Fall 2007), and U-15G WAGS Division 4 (Spring 2008).
The team finished with an overall league record of 27-2-6 during the two year span which included the four consecutive league championships. Both league losses during the two year span were by one goal.
Congratulations to all of the Annandale Express players, all of whom contributed greatly to the league championship during this fall season.
The Annandale Express players are Carol Balshaw, Claire Bruno, Katja Butts, Carrie Dawkins, Vasthy Delgado, Alex Ender, Alejandra Espinoza, Courtney Herbolsheimer, Alika Johnston, Amy Kochert, Sarah Little, Donya Mossadeghi, Veronica O’Rourke, Molly Ramey, Clare Terpstra, Lindsey Treweek, Kendall VanHoose, and Hannah Walker.
A special thank you to all of the parents of the Express, especially team managers Ann Bruno and Andrew Balshaw along with assistant coach Mike Walsh, for making this achievement possible for our players. Also a very sincere thank you to the leaders of Annandale Boys and Girls Club for all of the support they have shown the Express: Bo Amato, Kip Germain, Greg Germain, and Jack Wall.
