Wakefield High School’s Jerson Delgado, (#8 for Arlington Action), led a championship defense for the Action in the U-17B age group. After anchoring a defense that posted two shutouts and allowed only two goals all weekend, Delgado and the Action celebrated winning the August Cup.

On Saturday, the Action scored victories over Freestate Dragons 3-1 and DCST Blue Thunder 1-0 and continued their solid play on Sunday, defeating Loudoun Revolution 2-1 and Arlington Legend 2-0.

In the final game on Sunday afternoon, Freddy Castro (#3), and Cristian Castro-Fuquene (#17) scored two terrific goals to help the Action secure the title.

The Express defeated VYS Comets 4-0 before dropping a 3-1 decision to Loudoun 92G Red on Saturday.  On Sunday, with an opportunity to go to the finals with a win, the Express fell just short of yet another finals appearance settling for a 0-0 tie with eventual champion Herndon Arsenal.

Up next for the Express is the PWSI Toys for Tots tournament this weekend.  More details about the PWSI Toys for Tots tournament will be forthcoming this evening, or early Tuesday.
